Apple’s Vision Pro headset is set to debut its first live ‘immersive’ content featuring select Los Angeles Lakers games for the upcoming NBA season, the company revealed today. According to Apple, “Vision Pro users will be able to feel the intensity of each game as if they were courtside, with perspectives that are impossible to capture in traditional broadcasts.”
This marks a significant addition to the Vision Pro’s expanding library of immersive experiences, which already includes diverse offerings such as a scripted short set inside a submarine, a Metallica concert, and a short film from the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend. The Lakers games will represent the first opportunity for fans to watch live sports in Apple Immersive Video.

The inaugural Lakers game in this immersive format is expected to be available early next year through both the NBA app and the new Spectrum SportsNet app. Apple plans to announce the complete schedule of games later this fall, and users will need to have visionOS 26 installed on their Vision Pro to access the broadcasts.
