Conceived and launched out of New York, Knockbox Coffee was built as more than a caffeine company. “We’re here for the music, the art, and the weird,” says the founder. “I want to keep that energy alive by backing bands, sponsoring shows, and fueling the artists who stay up chasing their dreams. I want to literally put money into artists’ pockets — helping them buy gear or supplies, fix up their space, lock down a spot on a big show that could be their breakout, or just cover gas and food so they can keep going.”
At the center of the brand is its flagship “Killer Kangaroo Blend,” a medium roast designed to be bold, unapologetic, and strong enough to keep creators pushing through the night. Crafted from hand-picked Arabica beans grown in volcanic soil, the roast is taken “a notch darker than typical” to deliver what the founder describes as “a smooth hit of toasted nut, bright fruit spark, and a sly cocoa finish.”
Knockbox runs on small-batch roasting with lightning-fast shipping — beans often reach the bag still warm. Each bag is 100% pure Arabica, with no fillers, additives, or fake preservatives — just clean, bold flavor. “This isn’t fast coffee — fast coffee is forgettable,” explains the founder. “We slow it down. The beans grow in shade, are washed clean, and sun-dried for seven long days. Because what we’re building is real.”
That dedication carries through the entire process. Knockbox uses low-energy thermal convection roasting, trims packaging to cut down on waste, and constantly swaps in more
recyclable materials. Their beans are sourced from deforestation-free farms that reduce greenhouse gases and reinvest in their communities — keeping kids in school while keeping forests standing. “We want our coffee to fuel culture without draining the planet,” the founder adds.
Already, Knockbox is linking up with hardcore, punk, metal, emo, goth, and rave communities across the region, along with tattooers and visual artists. The vision stretches well beyond New York — the brand wants to support the creative subcultures across America that give “kids, weirdos, outcasts, and misfits” a place to belong.
“We’re small and new, and most of what we had went into building the brand and supply chain,” says the founder. “But what we do have is drive — to make something real. Coffee that keeps people awake and unapologetically themselves.”
