Officials from the United States and China are gathering on Monday to negotiate an extension of their tariff agreement ahead of a mid-August deadline, while also exploring additional measures to ease trade frictions.
The delegations, led by Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, will meet in Stockholm through Tuesday. This marks their third meeting in less than three months.

Key items on the agenda include discussions on the duration of the current tariff truce and addressing US tariffs related to fentanyl trafficking, as well as Chinese imports of sanctioned oil from Russia and Iran.
